new office furniture,new room...
if it appears i posted to many pictures of this room, it is just because i am excited, so excited to finally get this room working....thanks to ashley we finally started it after 25 years.... we have been sleeping on couches, connors bedroom, and our clothes are out on the deck, thru rain storms...this was the first weekend to sleep in our own bed since christmas...the floor is painted white, the walls this really cool blue called meditation(which changes from morning till nite)....and i have some more amazing changes in the window treatment, that will hopefully go up in the next few days....it will trip you out....

the incurable disorder
the art exhibit of elizabeth mcgrath at the billy shire fine arts. http://www.billshirefinearts.com/ when at artfest 3 years ago, elizabeth taught a class on how to make monsters. no one knew the genius of this artist, till we saw what she had taught her students ....we were all amazed at what they produced, and after seeing her exhibit today i had no idea how special she really was. and to think she invited yvonne and i to come to her studio on friday nites to make monsters and have some beers....did we go? (no, sorry to say) . this piece was called the incurable disorder and sold for 16,000.00

this is how i found out about elizabeth's show....l.a. times had write up about her friday...they had this picture of the 2 headed deer....it sold for 7000.00 it was a sold out show....she probably sold about 100,000.00 at this show. every piece was sold....

we attended last day of elizabeths show, and while we were still there 2 girls picked up their purchase of this snow animal, i think this one was 4,000.00
these three series of sculptures were reminiscent of the classes elizabeth gave at artfest....she had them create different little animals, and the students created a new breed of creatures...how lucky.... were we to have had such a amazing artist teaching at artfest

titanic memorial
on the back of the buffalo it carried a part of the Titanic ship...one side of the buffalo at inside picture of the last drink on the ship before it sank, and the other side was a icy funeral on an iceberg.....
crows in the powerlines
this was also one of my favorites....if you could see the crows in the power lines, and see their ruffled little feathers you would be astounded....and the creature had magnificent tattooing on the neck, by a special tattoo artist....
johnny cakes the fly
this was a fly chef.....johnny cakes, the patissier pest.... a fly that made your favorite cakes, i think it sold for 3,000.00

the tummy of the beaver, trailer and monkeys
these were the inside details of the beaver....a little tiny silver trailer with monkeys running amok.

we all wanted to purchase this piece for 4,000.00, the tine trailer in his belly with the monkeys was captivating... in real life her details to clothing are incredible. she uses old vintage cloth, and hand stitches many of clothing.....the painted faces are stunning and the taxidermy eyes capture you off guard.
