whisperings from the sea

how do you live your life?

i am trying to live my life as though everything is a miracle, it is so very easy to forget what a miracle life is, but as albert einstein said, there are only 2 ways, that should remind me there is no in between place...

whisperings from the sea

my friend catherine from artfest, sent me this beautiful cards. the side you see with the sea shells is her photography, and the flip side are daily inspirations we all could use everyday to live our lives by.

surprise from switzerland

i found a wonderful little surprise in the mailbox today....allie has gone treasure hunting for me in switzerland .....shes sent me 3 wonderful metals. it is a long story, but a few years back, when ally was living in spain going to school, her parents visited them. ally and sharon went on major flea market mission and came back with the most amazing metals ever. we cast these vintage metals into sterling silver, and they became part of our pureheart collection that year. and now she has gone to switzerland with her sweetheart, while he completes his doctorate in engineering....2 people in love, in a foreign land, learning a new language, living a new lifestyle, in the heart of zurich switzerland......see their adventures, http://www.seansummers.blogspot.com/ blogs are truely amazing....

madonna of switzerland

this is my favorite of the three, a soft copper color...looks very old with this beautiful Madonna, she almost appears to be holding large palms or leafs off to both sides....or is it part of her gown? ok allie, where did you find these little treasures... ? i know there is a little story

God help me, amen

god help me is all i can translate in German....this interesting copper coin has this inscription on this side, and the other side is image of man, (it could be a saint) i will have some of my German relatives (daughter translate for me)....thanks allie

from switzerland, country unknown

very interesting coin, looks middle eastern does anyone know?

the color of clarity

again and again my favorite color appears to me....turquoise the color of clarity, the color that captivated me in burano italy, the color i painted the front of my house, the word that i etched in metal, clarity, again the color of catalina water, as i seek clarity in my life, the color appears stronger everywhere i go.

avalon bay

the little island at sea

Pavilion Lodge catalina island

this is our hotel of choice when we stay for our 2 day show. it is right on the beach, very close to our booth for the art show. it has those special beds that you don't want to get out of bed. special sheets, and amazing pillows. about 2 years ago i was so impressed with the pillows i ordered about 48 pillows from the manufacturer, and all of my family and friends had their pillows.

famous casino

the weather was perfect this day....

catalina pier

Avalon has 2 landmarks, and this is my favorite...the turquoise pier. they say turquoise is the symbol of clarity.

view inside of cc gallagher of catalina

cc. gallagher

the best store on Catalina island. not to mention it reminds me of Italy, the bright turquoise tiles greet you as you enter this wonderful shop. cc Gallagher who's owner Pam has a very San Francisco style in this store. she has regular wine tasting featuring various vineyards in California. she also loves to host trunk shows of artists in her store. we have done a few trunk shows, they are quite fun meeting all the shoppers from all over the world

every corner of the store is a visual treat....
heading home from Santa Catalina island. this is our Capri, our get away by boat...i love this little island.

jewelry mission

i miss blogging ... my friends have asked where i am (i tell them in the jewelry pokey hee-hee) our busy season has started, and i have failed to start working on the jewelry in the summer, because the summer is my break from jewelry...these are some of my creations, in copper that have been turned into sterling silver. i am excited with the new process and hope to develop many new pieces. somehow i make time stretch, having a full time day job, and the jewelry business is 2 full time jobs. this weekend we will be in art show on Catalina island. it is a 2 day show on an amazing little island off the coast of southern Calif. (i will take my camera) it is quite a adventure crossing in a boat hauling tables and umbrellas to sell our jewels. it is a very busy show, and we have done this for the last 10 years. we have our loyal Pure Heart fans, mainly the island people that never get to the mainland for shopping. we stay in a wonderful little hotel right on the beach. stay tuned for more...
